A quick guide for operators — what to expect, what to say, and how it's scored.

This guide is a draft and hasn't been checked yet. Contest rules change from year to year — the sponsor's official rules are the final word.

What it is

The Worked All Europe DX contest, run by the German club DARC. In the RTTY edition everyone works everyone, and can also pass "QTCs" — short reports of earlier contacts — for extra points.

The exchange

RST and serial number: "599 001".

A typical contact

(Typed by the software.) DL1ABC: CQ WAE DL1ABC DL1ABC You: DL1ABC VE7SAR VE7SAR DL1ABC: VE7SAR 599 123 123 You: DL1ABC TU 599 045 045

Scoring

1 point per contact plus 1 per QTC sent. Multipliers are European countries per band, weighted more on the low bands (×4 on 80 m, ×3 on 40 m, ×2 on 20/15/10 m).

Tips for first-timers

In RTTY, QTCs can flow both ways. Click decoded callsigns; the software handles serial numbers.
